Exhibition No. 2

Born in Skopje, Macedonia, Irena was introduced to painting by her grandfather who was a naïve painter. Having received a B.A. at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Irena after enrolled in a 4-year mentorship in Prof. Milosavljevic’s private atelier.

She moved in 2012 to Canada and continued her Fine Art studies at Sheridan College, ON.

Belcovski is currently a successful artist living and working in Burlington, ON. She has been an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists since 2015.

This project “Nocturnal Series” explores intense, vivid colours, bold forms, and brushstrokes. Belcovski’s aim for these paintings was to define an ideal balance between geometric forms and freestyle lines. She was inspired by urban surroundings where skyscrapers contrast with the natural world; in nature, we can find perfect chaos, and in the urban environment, a chaotic perfection.
