Exhibition No. 2

I am a figurative abstract artist. My work focuses on the strength of individuals and how that strength affects relationships. All of my art is concept driven. I begin with figures in positions that will express the idea, and then allow my painting process to dictate the level of abstraction and colour palette to deliver the concept.

This diptych entitled “suspended”, acknowledges some of those moments we encounter in a relationship journey when we recognize the importance of individuality and connection to another. Figures and a neutrality to those figures, are essential to share my concepts. I believe there is no better way to demonstrate strength, relationship challenges, options, and results, than to strip away ideas of an individual or a culture and reveal the character of being. I work in oils, loving the manipulation it allows and the spontaneity it draws out of me.
