Exhibition No. 4
LizH Redbox Gallery
Bio / Artist Statement
Under the name “Redbox Gallery,” LizH draws inspiration from nature, particularly the seasonal changes typical of Canada. Characterized by an impressionist, semi-abstract style, the art vividly captures each season through depictions of native flowers, food, water, and trees.
These paintings centre around dandelion flower heads in their seed stage, reflecting the enduring tradition of making wishes on these delicate seed puffs. Liz’s interpretation employs minimalist palettes showcasing her unique techniques.
“I love the responses to this work, ranging from seeing flower heads to cosmic vibes or snowflakes, evoke different thoughts and emotions in viewers. A collector said, ‘This painting draws me in every time I look at it’. A corporate installation of five pieces in a condominium elevator lobby inspired a resident note to the Board ‘I love these paintings; I find myself smiling when I use the elevators’.”
