Patricia Maas creates because it is in her and it needs to be expressed. This soundless insistent force is like an itch that has to be scratched. She is always aware of the need to move it out into the open and inform the viewer. She is not sure how long she has been carrying this. What Patricia does know is that when, at age 60, she picked up a brush and began mixing colour, she had found a way to release this point of view… this fascination with all things natural and living.

Patricia paints in a semi-realistic style, allowing for artistic expression. Her preferred mediums are oil and acrylic. She is a full-time painter and works in her home studio in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. She loves this country and has lived in five of 10 provinces. Her art is inspired by the images of the natural world gathered by exploring this beautiful country.
