Exhibition No. 5

As Anne Opavsky paints, she is drawn back to the place, the adventure, and the spirit of the experience. Landscapes, elements of nature, and travels near and far are favourite subjects. Primarily self-taught, Anne paints from her Burlington studio with recent work inspired by time spent wandering through the fall colours.

These fall vignettes were inspired by our local Royal Botanical Gardens and Bruce trails.

Anne works most often in acrylic, using layers of colour in a representational style. Taking a moment to breathe in the beauty of the view is her first step in the process. Then using sketches and photo references she builds a painting that strives to engage others by evoking the atmosphere, the colour and the energy of that original moment.
