Cheryl-Ann Hills
Bio / Artist Statement
Cheryl-Ann Hills was born in Kitchener, currently residing in Hamilton Ontario. Her intent is to express the value and diversity of the natural world in her unique Abstract Canadiana style.
Cheryl identifies as an artist with a disability. As a child, Cheryl discovered that creating art provided an outlet for her emotions, helping her stay healthy and happy.
An elected member of the OSA and CFS, Cheryl participates in art shows and exhibitions across Ontario. She enjoys discovering new landscapes and people in her travels.
Her artistic approach focuses on strong minimalist composition emphasising bold colour, flowing organic forms, and ethereal light. Her influences include Michelangelo, Emily Carr, and Lawren Harris.
Her art practice minimizes environmental impact by adopting a solvent-free painting practice and reusing materials.
Her work can be seen in commercial galleries and local businesses. She continues to seek out new opportunities to show and sell her work in Ontario and across Canada.
