Louise Finn

Bio / Artist Statement

Capturing moments through the lens of her iPhone, Louise Finn focuses on the authenticity of her subjects. For Louise, beauty resides in the imperfect, in the rawness of the everyday. She does not rely heavily on editing, allowing her images to speak for themselves, untouched and true to the moment. Her work reflects a quiet appreciation for the world as it is, finding art in the unrefined.

Pathetic fallacy, a literary and artistic device, assigns human emotions or qualities to nature or inanimate objects. In Louise’s work, this theme manifests through her ability to see emotional depth in the natural world —whether it’s the quiet dignity of a beautiful, dying flower frozen in time, or the contemplative sadness of a lone tree glimpsed though the fog. By capturing the environment in its unfiltered state, Louise’s photography allows nature and the human experience to intertwine, creating a deeper connection between her subjects and the viewer.
