Pamela Dey
Bio / Artist Statement
Pamela Dey gets her inspiration of painting from nature in and around North America. Her artistic process involves taking notes from nature while visiting lakes, trails, and provincial parks. She dedicates a significant amount of time doing plein air studies on location and subsequently doing larger works in her studio. Pamela takes great pride in being a self-taught artist who wants to turn something ordinary into something extra ordinary and thought provoking.
As an art instructor, Pamela has taught many students over the years through various continuous general-interest programs with the Oakville Art Society. This summer she is engaged to teach From Studio to Landscape: Introduction to Plein Air with the Art Gallery of Hamilton (). She also manages her own studio, York Art Studio in Hamilton, teaching art to individuals and corporate groups enabling team-building and inspiring creativity.
A full-time artist based in Hamilton, Pamela has won numerous art awards and exhibited her work in galleries and art shows throughout the Greater Toronto Area, Hamilton, and Niagara region.
