Exhibition No. 1

Deirdre Barron enjoys the diverse effects and vibrant colours of acrylics, mostly landscapes and seascapes. Occasionally she will detour into still life exercises or experiment with abstract ideas.

The two paintings submitted to are inspired by the years spent travelling the oceans as a cruising sailor – days and even weeks out of sight of land or other vessels. Shards of Sunshine and Slivers of Stars evoke memories of the baking hot days in the Pacific and also the wonderful cool quiet of silent star filled nights. Gold and silver – Ying and Yang – a life concept recognized by civilizations throughout the ages.

Deirdre regularly participates in courses and workshops. Deirdre is an active member of the Burlington Fine Arts Association and the Oakville Art Society and the DVSA.
